Checklist in task descriptions

I would like to have a checklist in task descriptions. For example, every month I have a task with 10 steps. I don't need 10 tasks as each step is quite small while still being critical. A checklist in the description would work great. Other apps I've used have markdown which works well for this.

Sub Sub-Tasks or Markdown Checklists

The new subtasks are great, but there are times where I need to break a project down just one more level deep.
One workaround is to just link off to a note in Obsidian or another "note" app, but this isn't ideal.
Another option that would work for me is to support checkboxes in the Notes field of a Task. Then I could have all of that content easily accessible from the scheduled Task.

I agree with that markdown formatting would be a value add

I voted for this, and think markdown formatting in the Notes field to allow checkboxes would be great simple first step here, and create a lot of value. My first use case would be for slightly more complex tasks that have a bunch of small tasks that need done, this is a no brainer. For example, a long workout could include the particular sets and exercises as sub-subtasks . For bigger tasks that the AI planner moves forward every day, the sub- subtasks written in markdown give the task the superpower to be a quick and dirty project planner. Seems pretty simple and big value add. I wanted to share that another calendaring product that starts with Rec**** has markdown formatting of task notes and I liked it when testing.

Yes please. I have difficulty with too-big tasks and breaking them down to their smallest parts is easier when I can go deep into nested subtasks for each aspect of what needs to be done.

TickTick tasks have the support of adding checkboxes in task description which I use extensively. Hoping to see it on Morgen soon.

I was just going to create a request for nested subtasks when I saw this. Yes, nested sub-tasks would be fantastic, especially with the upcoming ClickUp integration.

Maybe a one-time task with it’s sub-tasks could also be converted (to a „checklist“ or „template“ that spawns a new task when pulled into the calendar

Subtasks will be coming out in the next couple of weeks (it's in QA right now). Not sure if that fits the bill, or are you looking more for something similar to the checklist option in trello cards for example?

Is this what you're after?
sia
mic: Feel like this is a quite different situation, maybe because they don't clutter up the main view of the task as much
