Obsidian is my fav notes manager, and Morgen is my Fav calendar/task manager, so integrating them together would be amazing! Looking forward to it! :)

I think that Devs team should definitely look into what available plugins in the Obsidian community have to offer.
I've tried Google Calander plugin recently. It's quite complex to set up, but it's kind of useful. The plugin allows me edit and create events from my Google calendar account inside Obsidian. When I want to have a meeting note that automatically appear in my vaults for notetaking, it can do that if I put a specific line of text in the description of the event like ":obsidian:" or not (it would do that automatically for every event). This feature supports template and path as well. Notetaking is, for me, obviously the main purpose of Obsidian. So Devs should learn a thing or two from this plugin 😗.
Day Planner, Full Calendar, Task and Task Status are also very good plugins to examine. Day Planner help me add tasks to a timeline for time blocking, they support viewing calendar but is is unreliable atm, week planner, recurring tasks, etc. Full Calendar offers similar features but their tasks format doesn't align with Tasks plugin (bummer), and it hasn't receive an update since last year I think.
You guys can skip all that and look at my suggestions here:
- "copying" some features from the plugins above.
- Creating notes from events feature:
+ In Obsidian: have a plugin to help set up the template, paths and what not
+ In Morgen: have an option to automatically create note before, when or after the events happen (a tick box or sth)
- Attaching notes to events:
+ In Obsidian: I'm not sure how 😅
+ In Morgen: The attached note should appear as description or as attachment which the user can preview.
Thanks for reading my suggestions 😅.

I can straight up admit integration with the Obsidian community Tasks plugin this would make me a paid Morgen user forevermore.

Mike Sale: I have been nudging them for over a year now 😅

Mike Sale same. Whoever gets their calendar integrated with obsidian tasks gets my money.

Jonas: How are you tracking your tasks in Obsidian ?
J
Jonas
Çağrı with the excellent tasks plugin. Myself and Danny started the conversation about it just a few comments below.

Jonas
Also I think the tasks plugin has made substantial progress in the last few months, too. Might be worth another look.
Çağrı
Jonas: sure, that is obvious. and how are managing them there currently? do you use any specific tags, organising them for yourself in projects or are you dumping all kind of tasks in there, related to daily notes?
J
Jonas
Çağrı oh got it. I'm using tags like #to/do #to/research #to/write #to/contact to categorise the tasks.
High level organisation of the tasks, I do in project files like
Projects - highest level
Milestone - mid level
Task - low level
Tasks might sit in a daily note, a project or a milestone file, sometimes even in a work file. And the tasks plugin pulls it all out of the different files.
The only functionality I'd need with morgen is surfacing tasks with their plug-in metadata (name, status, tags, due/scheduled/done date, repeat)
If you want to go very fancy, surfacing and linking to the obsidian file the task is in would be 🔥 think tasks plugin has that in the metadata, too.

will take what i can get.. tangled between so many workflows if morgen met obsessian i'd be able to drop 2 or 3 of the voices in my head.. , BUT, beggars gonna beg so will express that when i first read this was a thing i was imagining O to M, thinking out things that needed dates in the future.. but after reading some of these comments and others in forum i love the other way around, i mean duh, appointments and events requiring more in depth scribbling.. so what we are trying to say is can we have it both ways please? This but for Morgen would be fantastic. What I love about it is I hit the sync button at the end of the day and all the tasks are in my daily log for reference

I'd love to see Obsidian Integration arrive in Morgen. Just like the Notion integration, syncing tasks from Obsidian to Notion, allowing us to time-block tasks from Obsidian, update and complete them.
The most popular plugin for tasks management in Obsidian is Obsidian tasks, which is very actively developed and maintained with a focus on stability: https://github.com/obsidian-tasks-group/obsidian-tasks/releases
Obsidian Tasks started to expose an API for tasks
As per this discussion, it seems like it's mostly read-only for now. https://github.com/obsidian-tasks-group/obsidian-tasks/pull/1249#issuecomment-1593555891
It might be worth reaching out to the maintainer, Clare Macrae https://github.com/sponsors/claremacrae

Jonas: I have been thinking the same! Maybe we continue this conversation in the discord?
Some points have already been added in there...

Jonas
Danny Hatcher: Amazing, I'll try and find the discord therad.

That's for seeing the calendar in Obsidian, what about the other way around, Tasks that are in Obsidian easily imported into Morgen? Even a textbox with one line = one task would already be extremely useful
